CHILDREN @ North Union

North Union's Kids' Ministry exists to help children to:

                                                       Know God

                                                            Grow Closer to God

                                                            Show God's love

Our Kid's Ministry meets weekly on Sundays for Children's Church
during the 10:45am service.

Throughout the year we hold many family-oriented events to encourage relationships within the community and our church family.  Check out the different on-going ministries below-but also check back often for seasonal events!

We would love to help your children & family get connected to our kids' ministry!  Contact our Children's Ministry Director, Melissa Wagner for more information.

Children's church-PreK & Elementary ages

We believe that children are an important part of our church family!  Each Sunday, all children ages 4 and above start in the sanctuary to worship together as a family through music and prayer.  Children are dismissed from the sanctuary before the sermon and then gather together in the children's area for a time of age-appropriate learning and growth.  Each week's lesson is full of hands-on activities and adventure!

Preteen ministry

Preteen students (3rd-5th graders) gather together every other month (on the odd months) for a time of fun and friendship!

Kid's Club

Kid's Club meets on Tuesdays from September through April at Trinity Global Methodist Church (220 S. Walnut St., Van Wert, OH).  All children in Kindergarten through 5th grade are welcome to attend.

This year's theme is "Jesus Loves Us".

Kids Club for the 24/25 school year will begin on September 24.

Each week, kids enjoy a snack, story, video, games, exploring the bible, crafts, science experiments, and more!

Kids' Club meets at 3:45 (after the bus drops off at the church) until 5pm.

FAMILY FUN NIGHTS

Periodically throughout the year, we will organize Family Fun Nights so that families can have a free opportunity to get out of the house and interact with each other.  Some of the things we have done in the past are bounce houses, movie nights, drive-in movie in the church parking lot, ice cream socials, giant board games, and more.  When these events are planned they will be announced at church and published in our newsletter.  They will also be announced on social media. Keep you eye out for our next fun event for your family.

Easter egg hunt

Every Palm Sunday (the Sunday before Easter), we hold an Easter Egg Hunt for our families and the community.  This is held at Trinity Global Methodist Church (220 S. Walnut St., Van Wert).

It begins with stations with different crafts and activities for the kids to go to.  There are also snacks available for FREE.  It ends with the Egg Hunt where the kids leave with lots of goodies.

This is for all age kids and another way that we show our love to our neighbors.

TRUNK-OR-TREAT

This is held at Trinity Global Methodist Church (220 S. Walnut St., Van Wert) on the last Saturday of October.

North Union and Trinity love the Van Wert community and want to provide a fun and safe evening in October for families.  Members of both churches bring their cars, get into costume, and pass out candy from their decorated trunks to all of the costumed children who venture out.  In addition to candy, we also provide free hotdogs, beverages, and other snacks.  We also have an animal petting area.  This is one way we love to give to our neighbors and enjoy the company of good friends.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

Children, from PK-5th grade from both North Union and Trinity, present a program portraying the story of the nativity during the 10:45 worship service the Sunday prior to Christmas.  This program is prepared and practiced on Sunday mornings during Advent. This is a long standing tradition that has seen generations of students perform for their families.  The youth and tweens may also join in on this program, exclaiming the birth of Jesus.  It is a wonderful time of celebration.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Stories, games, crafts, science, snacks, and MORE!

VBS for 2025 will be announced in early spring!
